Oops that’s 2018 Amazon employee starter pack.
Jars? Just hook them up to bags, can’t waste company time playing with jars.
Just let them piss themselves. Those bags will overflow and waste time being installed/replaced
In the warehouses they should install metal grates as flooring above some type of large piss trough. Workers can walk around with no pants & underwear and freely piss when necessary.
"This is how our fathers mined worked"
And just hose them down from time to time?
Theyll be cleaned at the hourly spray down
Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. It will take hold of you, and you will resent its absence!
I started drinking water over 25 years ago and haven’t gone a single day without it since. I just can’t stop drinking the stuff.

I feel like they will nation out water systematically so they can streamline this process as well.

C’mon man this isn’t the Middle Ages! They provide catheters. Mandatory catheters. They use the urine as a preservative for the food tubes. Waste not, want not.
I appreciate your experience, but the reason you’re being downvoted is that human beings should be able to go to the bathroom whenever they’d like as a matter of basic dignity, not just during specified 15 minute breaks. And there are a lot of medical reasons why some people might need to go more frequently, etc.
the latter.. and in many cases probably both

I mean this isn’t to far fetched Amazon has quite the monopoly over the retail market a lot of companies go out of business because of them it won’t be long before most people work there.
It's either this or the classic Phillip K. Dick dystopia where robots do literally everything.
In a better world, the idea of robots doing all the jobs would've meant people are free to pursue and do what they wish
But they're dick robots tho
So basically The Santa Clause 2
Nah, just let a few own them all so they can make ungodly profits, while giving the rest UBI that's just about enough to live and consume a little, whereas the "owners" control everything.
If we are automatizing, we really need to abolish capitalism.
What should we have instead of capitalism?
All fun, all the time is not a good thing. Life is about balance.
That's why we balance fun and existential dread.
If the whole workforce could be automated, no one would have to work.
This means, that we enter a state of post-scarcity, which enables everyone to freely access everything and live a life without having to work, as everything would be common ownership.
States in the way we known today wouldn't really be necessary, due to eliminating scarcity and thus wealth discrepancy.
However, as things still have to be agreed upon on a group level, enabled by advances in communication technology, we could implement a system of direct democracy, where political affairs like laws, the election of police officers, firefighters etc. are decided by every citizen on either the municipal or federal level.
Well I don’t think direct democracy is a good idea. It would lead to tyranny of the majority. Also, I think it is presumptive to assume that the only cause of societal ills, and thus requiring need for government, is money.
The future we hope for, versus the future we'll get. The fact that working is something we need to do doesn't mean the rich don't enjoy seeing us do it.
If you're not working to make them richer, you're a waste of resources in their eyes. When all worth is monetary, all people become a number. Rich people don't see a health bar over the heads of the masses, they see a money bar. They don't care how long we live, or if we live at all, just how we rate in the only measure they value.
Depends on how it's implemented of course.
We're so much more efficient than we were 50 years ago and people assumed these gains would allow us to work fewer hours, take more vacations, etc.
Turns out that the amount of work we have expands to fill how much time we have.
It took unions to get us a forty hour work week and it will probably take is something similar to get our workers rights in line with the rest of the developed world.
My biggest concern is with how resources are spread. We don't want to tax robots yet, because we want to incentivize people building them, but we'll definitely want to somehow tax the wealth enough to avoid another guilded age (which we're already kind of in but automation can make it much worse)
Or just abolish capitalism once we reach full automation? Easier said than done, but once done, everything is great?
I don't think I want the government to be in charge of all manufacturing. That sounds like it wouldn't turn out great
That is a good point. Managing the robot workers would be the big challenge once established.
where robots do literally everything
where robots do literally everything
But do they dream ?
It can still happen. We just need to dismantle capitalism
Pfft. As if.
Everything will be automated. Nobody will work there and it’ll be pure profit for God-Emperor Bezos.
Nah, we work, but the robots do the real work. Humans simply walk into a room with a bunch of buttons and levers which aren't connected to anything and fiddle with them for 8 hours.
As long as I'm the guy on the stationary bike earning merits and not a lemon picking up others' garbage
Trying to collect enough merits for the new wraith babes video
Can't profit when everyone's dead.
Once you have your own robot army taking care of everything you need for power, food, and shelter, you don't need other people at all. Robots only need maintenance. They don't get sick, they don't take days off, and you don't have to pay them. If you're a billionaire that hates other people, the future is bright. Sucks to be the rest of us...
then who will buy the products?
Lets say you're a billionaire. If all of the worlds population disappeared, your struggle would not be wealth generation, it would be survival. Even the billionaires rely on common people to provide food and services that they use. If you were able to replace all other humans with machines, you no longer need money at all. You just need the ability to keep the machines going. We're around 40-100 years away from machines that have human intelligence that can self replicate, but it's hard to estimate as technology advances at an exponential level. Your family could then populate the earth as you see fit, without ever working a day in their lives beyond what they want to do.
Frankly, I expect the wealthiest people in the world to use AI to do exactly this. I don't know if regular people will be starved to death or executed. I just hope I'm not around.
We're not 40 years from shit. K don't think you realise what you're talking about.
I'm an automation engineer....
Has very little to do with actual artificial intelligence with any relation to mimicking or even poorly imitating human intelligence. I'm not even going to go further into it.
I guess machine learning doesn't really count... or teaching a computer to generate code on its own based on a set of rules... Sure, it has problems and a ton of edge cases, but the relative intelligence level of machines right now is at what, a mouse? That's why I said 40-100 years. When you think about how much progress has already been made in just the last 10-20, it doesn't seem so unrealistic to me. But whatever, if talking about it is beneath you, then you can keep your secrets.
Why not? If everyone else but you is dead, you have all of the money.
You can't have profits in a world where everything is free
If we manage to hit post-scarcity, what's the point of profit?
Well go tell that to god emperor Bezos!
The .01% that run the world like a big game of Monopoly have already achieved "post-scarcity". They are still interested in profit.
A sense of “winning”.
What are you talking about? No robot can replace the stallions!
He needs people to work the to make money to buy things from Amazon with
Do you think Bezos will just fuck his robots and ask them to rub his bald head and tell him how powerful he is?
I mean this isn’t to far fetched Amazon has quite the monopoly over the retail market

But 49% of e-commerce. Don't be disingenuous, if I've got a monopoly on car manufacturing but not for all vehicles as a whole, that would still be a monopoly.
Google has a monopoly on search engines but not the whole Internet, still doesn't mean it doesn't have a monopoly.
The funniest part about this comment is the Google comparison -- there's not even a need to bring up a different company, because AWS is huge swathes of the internet, too. Hell, they now run DoD servers!
Random point but if you as an Amazon employee get a security clearance to work on DoD servers they give you an extra 45k a year for what amounts to an extra hour a week of work
Wow, love your projection. They own 50% of e-commerce.
Why are you spewing bullshit you have not bothered to checking up on?
Shh, that doesn't fit the Reddit agenda where many people on here think companies are bad and the future is doomed.
Replace "Amazon" with "Wal-Mart" and this sentence works in the 00s.
And Walmart is bigger than ever every year
I mean those places are still out of business and never coming back and Walmart is the biggest employer so...

Amazon doesnt have close to a monopoly on internet retail let alone all the brick-and-mortar retail.
49% market share in American Internet retail. Enough of a share to essentially control the market as they see fit.
Monopoly power doesn't necessarily mean they own almost all of the market share, but they can own enough to manipulate it and destroy competition.
No, that’s precisely what monopoly power means - they own all of the market.
Here’s how we tell if Amazon is a monopoly. List all of the e-commerce platforms. If you get to 2 or more: it’s not a monopoly.
You're describing a dictionary definition Monopoly.
Standard oil didn't own literally all oil companies in the USA but they got broken up.
Microsoft wasn't the sole provider of operating system software but still lost its antitrust case (though it didn't get broken up).
Even if a company doesn't fall under the dictionary definition of a monopoly, it can still weild huge amounts of influence over its market, making it very difficult for any new competition to arise.
I appreciate your well thought out and concise response and for clarifying your point of view. I was a bit abrasive and sarcastic in my approach but I was mostly joking.
I happen to agree with you about companies being able to wield huge amounts of influence being unhealthy for a well functioning capitalistic marketplace. Monopoly is obviously not the only metric for a company being too strong being problematic.
However I disagree on two fronts. One: I think the classification of monopoly should be used in a strict sense. Even if we don’t hold the old school, dictionary definition of a single business with no competitors. One of the key elements to considering someone to hold a monopoly should be an insanely high barrier of entry. And I don’t think that’s true here yet.
Which brings me to my next point I disagree on which is the fact that Amazon fits this criteria.
Just because a lot of people selectively use something doesn't constitute a monopoly. Quite the contrary actually. I think it’s an indicator of a strong brand and a listening to the market and offering products accordingly.
Their brand is extraordinarily strong. And I think we should totally keep an eye on it with a concern that their power or influence could become problematic. But just 15 years ago Myspace was absolutely dominating the social media market and nobody cared about Facebook or saw that changing. It only took 5 years for that to completely flip and nobody to care about Myspace.
Looks like research isn't one of your hobbies.
Cool response! Thanks for the completely unproductive discussion!
Tell St. Peter that he gonna have to wait cause I owe my ssssssoooooouuuulllll.....to the company store....
16 tons, what do you get
Another day older and deeper in debt
Soooooooooome people say a man is made out mud, a poor mans made out of muscle and blood
Muscle and blood and skin and bone, a mind that's weak and a back that's strong
You load 16 tons, whattaya get? Another day older and deeper in debt
St. Peter don't you call me cause I can't go, I owe my soul to the company store.
The movie Sorry to Bother You is precisely about this.
That movie was crazy! It was nice to see something that was so original and thought provoking
It was very unsettling. Especially the end.
Yeah I started out really liking it, and then felt like it just kinda went off the rails, like a second writer took over. It ended and we just sort of stared at the screen for a minute.
Someone pointed out to me, the whole point of that ending (probably) was to show that corporations could literally turn people into beasts of burden, and no one would blink an eye. I kinda thought the ending was dumb until I thought about it that way.
Yeah, I felt like that was the point when the guy in the cafe scene was like “We didn’t know what to do about it, so we didn’t do anything.” I think it just turned me off to it because it was just so shocking and out of nowhere.
Oh, no doubt. I think a little bit more of hinting or gradual build would've worked better narratively, but I also think suddenly seeing people turning into horses completely out of nowhere was a little bit more true to the authorial intent. I think they could've found a happier medium between the two.
Movie made me laugh so much that by the end I was a little horse.
I enjoyed the movie but I’m not sure I feel about the horse cocks
Let’s be real, the Chesapeake reclaims Annapolis any time it rains more than 4 inches.
any time it rains then?
I think we just need to be like the Netherlands and reclaim the bay. I'm tired of losing city docks once a month
Thing with the Netherlands is that it's a perfect target for land reclamation, it was all basically a delta for the Rhine when there was still doggerland so it's all fertile silt and super flat and also has the ring of raised land for dams.
Thought I was the only one
Oh hey I’m from Annapolis.
No Annapolis=no us 50 traffic so win-win?
Dry land is not a myth!
A part of me finds it hysterical that this is downvoted.
Pussers is that place that you go to if you want an impromptu highschool reunion with all the people you didn’t keep in contact with from highschool.
Honestly, any school near Annapolis.
Ahigh, Severna Park, Broadneck, st Mary’s, Spaulding.
Yep, everyone went there the night before Thanksgiving and you could count on seeing too many people
First place i ever went to in Annapolis. Good way to start the night.
If you are a tourist. Gotta go with Davis' pub in Eastport or Lemongrass if you are feeling oriental.
Hell yea, you ever go to Rocco’s pizza off Bay Ridge road, it’s close by as well and excellent? I grew up right down the road from you.
Rocco's. The place you order from when you are at some party in bayridge and the delivery guy gets invited in because half the party worked there at one point.
No Chesapeake bay take Kent island instead!
Is this referencing something?
So it's a what-if scenario where companies go to war?
Online retail mostly with brick and mortar fighting over scraps
Costco is Emperor Palpatine waiting for both sides to tire themselves out before they violently seize control.
That's actually pretty apt. Costco is a solution to the strife (making competition obscelete by passing on wholesale as a near nonprofit entity) but it results in mass monopoly thereby causing even greater problems.
So then we nationalize it. Workers of the world, unite! We have nothing to lose but our membership fees!
No need to use violence when you have delicious rotisserie chickens rations to hand out.
Ah, ok. That's pretty cool!
It's a what-if libertarian scenario where we slip back into feudalism. House sigils replaced with brand names. Hooray capitalism!!!
Isn’t that just cyberpunk lore

Hell yeah, I was hoping there would be a sub!
"Don't get addicted to water"!!
Don't forget about the wage cages that keep you safe.
All hail Bezos.
Nice sneaky a113 lol
Love a good hidden a113 ;)
Kid : There is no way a company can become or takeover a country
Me as a history student : that's were you are wrong kiddo
Has it been done in the past?
The Dutch East India Company is the classic example if I recall correctly. It didn't exactly "become a country," but it was an enormous, metastatic corporation with more power than many countries. Other examples are United Fruit Company, and Leopold II of Belgium's exploitation of the Congo Free State.
Get out. Insane ahaha
If there's no Annapolis then there's no us 50 traffics amirite r/Maryland bros?
Idk is there still ocean city?
Okay, can we stop with these?
it's generic futuristic dystopia with corporate names thrown in but aside from the names there's really not much there

Former Amazon worker here, at orientation they actually gave out a water bottle to the person who correctly guessed Jeff Bezos’ net worth
bold of you to assume there won't be a major society collapse before 2052.
Can someone explain me this whole war thing plz?
Basically, redditors made up post apocalyptic what if corporations fight each other. If you want to be smart you could say it's stolen from the movie demolition man taco Bell joke.
Thanks fellow redditor
The funny thing is that Bezos probably will still be alive in 2052
Has anyone been to the new Amazon office in Seattle? Fuckin' weird. There are plaques with quotes from Bezos on the walls, and they're super fucking generic, like "failure is success" level generic. It's cult-level crazy.
Dental plan? Thats so 2020. Teeth arent needed now with my Heinz™ pre-chewed™ readytube™ meals™.
If you've ever worked at an Amazon warehouse, this is unsurprising.
The only thing missing is the company housing.

I work at Amazon. There’s a common misconception with the robots. It’s not like I’m working with C3PO, the robots are like big roombas that carry bookshelves. Really not that interesting. Also please kill me.
Lmao is that a pic of bezos when he was in India? I recognize the building in the background because it's in my home city
I have a feeling that the shitty packaging we have been getting is some kind of uprising
According to tv and movies a dental plan is as luxurious as a spa package
Ya right. They do like 2% 401k matching, even to their highly skilled and high-level employees. I'm pretty sure that's illegal.
Hmm, looks like an episode of Black mirror.
This perfectly just describes the military. Including the picture of the housing that the lucky ones get while deployed, up in the right corner. And “eBay hell” is how supervision describes life as a civilian....God I’m glad I got out.
Ah shit whaddup, wasteland weekend
What is this trend of a near future corporate ruled North America on this sub?
Do you live in the US?
TheElonSlaveLaborAssociation as well
It's missing Bezos as the 'Amazon Prime Minister'
Man, I work in a warehouse, and if all of the sudden, my supervisor was like, "Hey man, we got a studio apartment for you right by the warehouse." I'd be into it. I'd move right in. But I'm basically a horrifying, antisocial troglodyte. If I had some hope or desire to ever have a family, or like, be a human, I wouldn't be into that.
Hey wasteland, nice
When did this sub go full snowcrash? I'm confused, but I like it.

every day I come a little closer to unsubscribing
What's the Chesapeake Bay got to do with this? I've never heard of Jeff bezos having a grudge on Anne Arundel county Maryland!
What is the Beez wearing in that picture? He seriously fucking wore that? He has to have a PR guy though...
This would make for a really interesting future noir
Not gonna lie, the picture with the text daily commute to work made me think there was spit or something on my screen. Just large enough to see, just small enough to not know what it was.
I see you’ve been to Seattle.
They will be dropped at work by drones
Oh the Black Mirror S6E1 plot has leaked?
The sad thing is you think amazon will have employees in 2052.
This starter pack makes /r/Maryland emotionally unstable.
It is sweet that you think humans will have jobs at Amazon in 2052
wait... I could afford housing while working in a warehouse???? sign me the fuck up.
notice the complete lack of Keanu Reeves
Couple of my friends work in Amazon (I live in Poland) and they said it looks like camp created to force people to work, the best part is their duty rota was great resemblence of what they saw.

How is this joke getting MORE popular?
Am an Amazon employee. Can confirm.
Also they live in the train, like in snowpiercer. Instant delivery.
You forgot the suicide nets to catch jumpers.
Thanks for slaving away at Amazon so that i can save 10$ on a new cordless drill
As someone who lives near the bay, can confirm we are slowly getting flooded.
Yeah but the other posts in this thread are mostly comedy, this is one is just an accurate prediction, probably =/
Do not become addicted to the water!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees corporations building armies.
I live in Annapolis.... well shit
What the hell, those are the executive suites. Grunts don't get doors or windows.
Primarch Bezos has a decent ring to it.
Are you sure they aren't already doing the noon chants?
Upvoting for Annapolis reference
Is Basic Housing 113-A a reference to Pixar’s A113?
What’s the wasteland image from?
So what’s the thinking about all these mega corps and then mormonland?
The noon chant 😂 that’s great
They act like $15/hr is generous. That should be the min wage for any job.
Where's the guillotine whenever someone mentions Alibaba or Aliexpress?

Shoutouts to Annapolis. Didn’t expect to see that here.
Time to go back to China so I can rnjoy THE SUPREME HUAWEI.
The dental plan is a dude with a heavy punch and a pare of pliers
I do double Amazon flex shifts everyday and set the custom messege on my cars dash to read "Amazon Flex Slave" It makes me feel better for some reason
Actually sounds kinda nice. Where do I sign up?
All hail bezos!
All hail prime!
The funniest part of this meme is that you think almost all work for Amazon is going to be done by humans at that year. IT guys, engineers for the machines, transport cars, accountance and marketing guys, and of course CEO's, that's all.
Lol y'all really think that many humans will be working for amazon.
Big ‘sorry to bother you’ vibes
Lol humans won’t work for amazon in 2052
Even worse. In 2052 those will be the working conditions for software developers
Pretty software will be developed by AI by then
Is amazon really this bad?
What's up with all these distopic Amazon starterpacks?
Physically going to the "market" or shop has been such an integral part of society, forever. Humanity will change - is changing.
looks like some Lexx style shit!
all hail his merciful shadow.
It was good while it lasted. Time to block this sub
Food tube rations.
Heyyyy something about my state in a post! Hello fellow Marylanders!
#113-A... I see what you did there...
I love Amazon so much!
Sounds perfect for Alabama.
Is this a pixar reference?
They can choose not to work there. Amazon is great for buying stuff so 🤷🏻♂️
love the pixar reference, if it is that
What did amazon do? Sorry I don’t know much about it in my country
Damn, dystopian universe? I mean at least I’m not dead.
Also needs electric collars, can’t have any disobedience!
Remember next time you're working at shit job and you know you have no skills: yes, you should have tried harder in school. Yes, you should have done something. It's never too late but we both know you aren't gonna do fuck all about it. I see so many people with the logic I had when I bought a cool car in my teens to try to get chicks. "I know, if I just sit in this car, then chicks will throw themselves at me and I'll get laid all the time." That is how I see the thousands of people I've worked with at the shitty jobs I made sure to move on from. "If I just sit here and do absolutely nothing, someone will come by and offer me a huge raise in a totally different field!"
I like how this probable future is scaring some people so much they're begging people to stop posting like this.
Scary but this will happen if we keep big business and capitalism unchecked.
As soon as I saw 'dental plan', I was half expecting to see Homer and a reference to braces.
We can't forget the fact that Lisa does indeed need braces. All Hail Bezos! Long Live Prime!
So can someone clear this up for me. I hear Amazon is good to work for and at times bad. Is it based on position like if I work in shipping compared to working in the AWS department?
Jokes on you! It will be all automated by then! Have fun at EBay wasteland!
Fucking Wasteland Weekend I’m dead
Full dental coverage generously provided by the McDonalds corporation in hopes that you will have the teeth to eat there for the rest of your life.
Back to classic capitalism
ellicott city is on its last legs
What are these starterpacks lately, before I go off to r/outoftheloop ?
This is current state of play, not future
Commute to work is missing the Über bus
The chant wouldn't exist cause it would take time away from work. There would be no daily commute to work because it would mean you'd have to stop working
You didn't do the chant right. It's "All hail overlord Bezos and his Prime directive! All for one, hour shipping!"
Funny until you realize it is actual future.
Maybe it's because I'm starving, but those tubes sound good right now.
Sort by controversial
Is the house number a nod to the Pixar Easter egg A113?
“I could go for some tubes right now, guys. Haven’t eaten all day”
I don’t understand these but they make me laugh
Seattle is nearly a wasteland and is glazed in radiation but people still live there.
aw you forgot the wagecage
As someone who lives 15 minutes from Annapolis, this will probably happen.
Like I'm a socialist, but I kinda hate these memes. Sure, we need better min wages and stuff, but Amazon employees make $15 an hour while Wal Mart employs something like a million people a a large fraction of those are on food stamps because Walmart pays them trash.
Bezos at least donates billions to charity, the Walton family? The lobby to turn America in the dystopian future that this meme describes. McDonald's, Walmart, etc. Have been doing way worse things than Amazon for decades, but people somehow forget that
Average hourly rate for Walmart associate (no experience) is $14.26 an hour, with virtually zero ceiling unlike Amazon where moving up beyond a shfit-lead is practically impossible.
Interesting Reference: Walmart store managers make well over six figures.
Like I'm a socialist, but
Like I'm a socialist, but
proceeds to explain that they actually aren't a socialist
I am tho. Walmart is way worse than amazon and that's facts. Complaining about amazon while ignoring walmart is retarded
Complaining about Walmart while ignoring the Koch brothers is retarded.
Koch brothers are evil, but hey dont really won massive retail operations that pay people minimum wage, so they're not a direct comparison...
Lol okay pal. I get it, you have to be right.
They're all bad, and pointing out one bad thing doesn't mean we're ignoring the other ones.
yeah, but amazon isn't even bad compared to the rest of the industry. what other retailer offers anything near Amazon in terms of wages and benefits?
I mean, that's like saying that one pile of horse shit is better than another pile of horse shit because it doesn't have maggots in it.
Like, the problem here is the system that allows the range of companies to be from Amazon to Walmart/McDonald's
yeah, for sure. But Amazon is above average when it comes to the retail industry in terms of pay and benefits. Walmart literally costs america billions in food stamps because their employees cannot survive on their wages. How many amazon employees are on food stamps?
Wow this is sooooo funny and such a nuanced perspective!!! Really great post just kidding fuck you 🖕🏾🖕🏾🖕🏾don’t ever fucking post again
Triggered by reality?
how many people who work for amazon (verifiably) actually feel this way tho? like, honestly, i get that basically all of reddit hates amazon, but show me your receipts
and what about more recent, after the corporate wage increase? outside the US is a bit more complicated, and some articles aren’t your firsthand account like i was asking for but okay
I don't, but anything can happen in 30some years.
