My color blindness does the same thing.
I had an ex who used to tell me my clothes never matched. She was right.
How did you find out they didn't match?
His ex used to tell him.
He woke up in Chris Brown’s body.
We need answers!
She blue him off.
I wore a shirt for more than two years thinking it was red, white, and blue plaid. Turns out it was orange, white, and grey. It was my favorite shirt. The amount of days I thought I made matching decisions and ended up totally blowing it is fucking countless.
Had a friend that would always wear blue with his Colorado Rockies gear. Thought it was a baseball quirk/superstition until I learned he was colorblind and sees blue and purple the same.
I really hope that the way you found out it wasn't red, white, and blue was that this was your fourth of July shirt and you were very feeling especially proud that your favorite shirt was so patriotic so you used it as a conversation starter at a barbecue
I have a relative that is red-green colorblind. One day his workplace introduced a new website. The menu was green text on a red background with the same intensity. He was pretty confused to be presented with a blank screen!
They changed the color scheme once they figured out what was going on.
Any designer who isn't a total idiot would never create something supposed to be legible using those two colours. Apart from knowing that it screws with red-green colour blind people, it's just too hard for people with even normal vision to look at. Too much vibration.
I just stick to blue, brown, black and white. You can't go wrong from a fashion standpoint.
Looks white and gold to me
Not this, shit again!
Dude, that comma
Your existence annoys me
I did shit again. Now what?
Stole my joke. Here we go again.
what the fuck, i opened it and it was black and blue. i closed it and re-opened it a second later and its white and gold. i fucking hate that dress it fucks with my mind
Hey it's blue and black there for me. I almost always see the white and gold version. Only rarely have I managed to see it as blue and black.
Doesn't look like anything to me.
Goddamn it, I had forgotten about that annoying dress.
It was clearly white and gold, how could anyone see black and blue is beyond me.
I can't belive how long ago that was. Goddamn the passing of time!!
Hey, Bouncedatt, just a quick heads-up:
belive is actually spelled believe. You can remember it by i before e.
Have a nice day!

What do you mean looks? It’s clearly white and gold. There’s no ‘looks’. It is.
Nope. It is clearly blue and black to me. See, that's why it went viral.
Are you in an emo band in the year 2008?
That top imgur comment is gold.
Does it filter out the endless replays of my chemical romance?
Holy shit this is right on.. I was super in to stuff like MCR as a high school freshman in 2006 and I wore a pair of fingerless gloves exactly once. My best friend was like “why are you wearing those”. We haven’t spoken in years but I should call him and thank him right now.
When I was a young boy
Or is it blue?
More like 2001
More like 2000 late
These gloves are definitely more late 2000s emo than early 2000s emo. By 2008, emo started to add some color and blended with scene a little bit.
I'm not sure exactly why but I absolutely hate these gloves
That's okay because the person wearing these gloves hates everything.
I chime in with a haven't you people ever heard of fingerless emo gloves?
No, it’s much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of regret about the past me
That or a member of The Breakfast Club. The original edgelord
Simple glitch caused it not to render the colors
I hope the r/outside devs fix this, but they're the devs and the devs don't do anything.
look up tier zoo on youtube, the show off the stats of different players, its pretty cool, they recently touched on a few huge glitches in the game, quite interesting
Debs is on vacation, she was overworked trying to delay the Nuclear Apocalypse expansion.
Cool but is the glove white and gold or black and blue?
NO, WE LEAVE THAT IN THE PAST!
These graphical glitches can be pretty funny, it’s really odd when people glitch out entirely though and just disappear or their hair goes missing.
Aw fuck, not this again
The dress caused my divorce
Looks white and gold
Buddy, it's blue and black.
For real. I saw the picture and my immediate thought was "No."
I'm way more appalled that you're wearing them than I am interested in this.
I have poor circulation and no fashion sense.
This is really the only reason to wear fingerless striped gloves.
Screw the haters, I think they're cool
Also your finger tips are are clubbing, which in addition to the circulation thing can be a symptom of a developing pulmonary disorder. If you haven't already it might be worth talking to a provider about that. Sorry for being Nosey Nancy, but those problems often go undiagnosed until it's way too late.
What is with the fucking fashion police in this thread? Jesus Christ. Lay off.
Anyway, thanks to the OP for sharing something interesting.
Ugly as they are, if you're a photographer, they're a blessing during the winter as regular gloves kill your dexterity.
Fingerless gloves are also good for dog training. You can handle the treats without your hands freezing off. The stripes on the other hand...
Those two pictures look nearly identical with F.lux. I had no idea what I was supposed to be seeing until I disabled it and saw the blue stripes.
am disappoint is not real
Holy shit that's freaking awesome!! Thank you for showing that
Thank you. I was really confused for a few minutes trying to figure out what everyone was talking about.
Same here, my first thought was that it was blue.
Thanks, this post makes sense now.
Is the window closed in the left image and open in the right image? How on Earth did the glove change color?
In the second photo, I opened the door next to the window (seen in the very top right), so regular light can come in. The screen door is still closed which might be why it’s hard to tell that the door is open.
Aha, very cool. Thanks for the explanation!
I recently got a pair of sunglasses that is evidently the same tint as my car windows so I can see every imperfection in the car tint now. It's really annoying because I bought the sunglasses for driving but seeing the slight waviness is too distracting.
That's probably polarization, not tint.
Okay. That’s cool as hell.
Can you link a gif?
That would’ve been cool...I actually took the photos earlier in the week. Right now it’s dark out where I am, but more importantly, I have no idea how to make a gif.
"Does it filter out the endless replays of my chemical romance?"
You were able to prove this single-handedly.
Nope, he needed the other hand to hold the camera
Cool gold and white gloves
Thanx for bringing existential crisis back.
whats the point of fingerless gloves?
whenever i wear gloves, its because my finger tips are cold or need protection
They'd still keep your fingers slightly warmer because your hand temp would be higher than if you weren't wearing them. They'd be useful for when you need gloves but also need precision touch.
They help you look like a TV tough guy
Keeps me warm and lets me comforably smoke a cigarette in the cold.
I use em for digital drawing. need my fingers to not have stuff over them.
They're useful when it's cold but you need to do something that requires tactile feedback from your fingers. It's hard to feel what you're doing with full gloves on.
All the judgement for people who don't give a shit about 'fashion'
More power to OP, wear what you want
Simple video on what is actually going on https://youtu.be/O7mEBpJVJbA
I need these gloves. Where'd you get them?
Hot Topic in 2005
I know, I love them too. I got them for like ten bucks on amazon, I think I just searched “fingerless gloves”.
This is not mildly interesting. This is crazy fucking interesting.
Nice white and gold gloves
Can someone explain what’s going on here
Humans can see electromagnetic radiation with a wavelength of ~400nm to ~700nm, seen here. This is known as visible light.
The color that we see an object is not the wavelength that it absorbs, but rather the wavelength it reflects. So a banana absorbs every wavelength of visible light except that around 585nm, which is yellow. White objects reflect all colors and black objects absorb all colors, which is why they tend to get hotter.
So what's going on here is that the glove, under a light source that gives off the whole visible spectrum, you see part as black, because it absorbs all wavelengths, and part as blue, because it absorbs all wavelengths except for light around 400-450nm. The window filter is blocking out wavelengths around 400-450nm, which means that there is nothing for the blue fabric to reflect. All that we see the blue doing is doing what it normally does and absorbing all wavelengths between 450nm and 700nm, just without it reflecting the blue light.
You mean a "blue light filter". Yeah, those are pretty common
The window is probably designed to filter out UV light. Since blue is close to UV it might filter out some blue as well.
