The fact they forfeited before it even went in is even more satisfying :)

Singles, the only place where MMR/Elo applies. The only anchoring done is done by yourself.
And no passive-aggresive teammates!
I find 1v1 super enjoyable cause there's less talking and more playing.
Does this sub have a glossary?
Dude straight alt+f4ed
The best part about the strat is to be in control of whether there is a kickoff goal or not. If the attacker is good enough to score with low/zero boost left, I won't get tilted as the error is on me since I should have been able to defend it. The most effective against this strategy are flicks, and if the attacker kept boost, a bounce dribble powershot. Once I know the attacker is going for that I'll sometimes challenge right after the first touch and get a dunk.
I like to hit the ball as hard as I can.
Almost spit out my drink. I read what bighouse wrote and thought to myself, "I have no clue what any of that means and I'm very bad at this game."
I like to hit the ball
“Whack the fuck outta it as hard as I can in no general direction” checking in.
then it hits crossbar, you miss the second chance goal, and then opponent gets it and scores the easy goal -_-
I push the ball toeards a corner, avoid taking a shot usually, collect boost and get ready.
If I take a shot it’s likely they’ll set themselves up for an easy one if I miss and they defend well
The best is when you use the rockets to hit the ball and it goes a long ways.
That is my favorite to deal with as I'll save it to my corner and likely keep possession.
I know some of these words...
Glad I'm not the only one.
If you're not gonna go for the ball at kick off, you better commit. Your opponent will be in control of the ball so if you rush them, they'll pull something like this off.
Also staying goalie at kickoff really helped my defense skills.
The problem here is when you do it when you're losing. Even if no one touches the ball, the time will eventually start counting down, and there's no pressure on the winning player to score, so he could very well just stay put until the opponent decides to act.
This is great advice, a lot of times I feel this sub doesn't put the correct amount of emphasis on situational awareness. Flat out watching your opponent and making the play that you know they can't defend. Of course you need some semblance of mechanics to make those plays, but knowing and consciously choosing the right play for the situation is arguably more important, especially in 1s.
I like to think that I would do this to, as it made sense to me. But I’d probably just fuck it up anyways.
That's funny, the way I defeat that strat is I hit the ball in their goal and am the only one with 100 boost while they jump around trying to stop the free shot they just gave me.
Basically that strat is horrible.
It works well in the lower ranks though.
Used to do it when I started tilting because of instant kickoff goals, plus I needed to practice being a goalie because that was my main weakness in 2v2. I was actually quite happy with it. I know at higher levels it's less effective but it's pretty decent for a while.
I've gotten really good at picking a top corner off the kickoff. It is extremely hard to defend against even if you see it coming. I love it when they don't go for the kickoffs, it is almost a guaranteed goal.
At higher levels the starting boost amount is plenty to save any shot from directly if the kickoff if you don't go for it. The problem comes when they save enough boat when going for the kickoff that they can dribble you.
I just pop the ball on my roof from the standstill, and flick it past them when they challenge.
I spend the entire game trying to get the ball on my roof with time to execute a flick on their net. If they want to give that to me in a silver platter off the kickoff, by all means!
And to think you were probably going to whiff
EDIT: geeze you guys
the fact that you're getting downvoted for this lmao
Flair 'checks out'
Well, I was very off to the side of the ball. Was probably gonna whiff lol
He might never play Solo Duel again lol
I just dribble it when I see them not for for the ball, doesn’t make sense why they would think it’s a good strategy.
Bonus power points if you wait on the boost that is behind the ball so that while youre waiting for them to make their move you can get fueled.
Ahh the delicious tears of the vanquished
Do this all the time. Works on almost anyone
Damn, now my strat is public
I set my camera high, wide, and angled down so I know what they're doing without having to change my camera angle
They both have pros and cons. If you look at rlcs settings some players are directly behind their car while others are looking almost straight down. It all depends on how you play and what your comfortable with.
You're my hero
Why does it take so long for the time to start going again?
Because it starts up when someone touches it, unless nobody does. Then it takes a few seconds.
Lol I do this too
Lmao I ff like this all the time
Haven't laughed so hard for a long time
DON'T TELL ANYONE!!! Jesus I've been using this strat for 1's forever and it rarely fails to throw the opponent off. Now people are going to realize how dumb it is to not go for kickoff. Especially when they are down.
how2change camera angle?
